State of North Rhine-Westphalia funds Graduate School on Online Participation for Local Government

logo_fortschrittskollegWe are very happy to announce that our research group has won one of only six NRW Fortschrittskollegs. These are graduate schools funded by the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia to conduct interdisciplinary research with strong exchange with practitioners. We have won the award (worth about 2.6m Euro) for a concept in which eleven doctoral students from a diverse set of disciplines (Social Sciences, Management Studies, Computer Science and Law) focus on the potential and problems of online participation in the context of local government. We are supported by a network of practitioners from cities and local councils, NGOs as well as service providers. The graduate school is funded until 2018 with an option for another cohort of doctoral students. More information is available from www.fortschrittskolleg.de
